Early work: Performing comedy at Covent Garden whilst at college

Stage jobs include: Everyone Loves A Winner, A Passionate Woman, She Stoops to Conquer

 

Writing: Ian co-wrote the hugely successful independent film, Dirty Filthy Love based upon his own experiences dealing with Obsessive–compulsive disorder, starring Michael Sheen. His most recent writing project is feature film, Bolan’s Shoes, stars Timothy Spall and Leanne Best and is due for worldwide release in late 2022.

 

Awards: Ian won a Royal Television Society Award and a Broadcast Award for Best Single Drama for Dirty Filthy Love and was nominated for a BAFTA.  He also received a silver award from the New York Film and TV Festival as well as a nomination form Prix Italia, again for acclaimed project, Dirty Filthy Love.

 

Directorial experience: Moving On (BBC) and independent film, Bolan’s Shoes.

 

Patron of: The Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, OCD UK and Square Chapel Arts Centre.

 

Honorary doctorate: He has an honorary doctorate for services to Mental Health and the Arts by the University of Chester.
